ANALYSIS OF A PITTSBURGH TRAINING COURSE IN COMMUNITY RELATIONS WITH DATA ON TRAINEE CHARACTERISTICS AND CHANGES AS A RESULT OF THE 9-MONTH PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE STUDY ALSO ISOLATES AND DESCRIBES THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE TRAINEES WHO CHANGED IN THE DIRECTION OF PROGRAM GOALS AND THOSE WHO CHANGED AWAY FROM THE GOALS. THE DATA INDICATE THAT THE TRAINEES BECAME MORE PROFESSIONALIZED AND THAT THE PROGRAM WAS MODERATELY SUCCESSFUL. HOWEVER, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF ESTABLISHING A SENSITIVITY AND SYMPATHY IN THE TRAINEES FOR LIBERAL, INTEGRATION GOALS IN THE SOCIETY, THE PROGRAM CANNOT BE VIEWED AS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL.
