This directory lists approximately 2,700 local agencies, 268 State agencies and organizations, and 100 national organizations in the United States that are concerned with preventing sexual assault and child sexual abuse and with providing services to victims and their families.
Abstract
The directory is intended for use by victims/survivors and their families, by service providers, and by other professionals and individuals. The listings are grouped into five sections. The main section consists of agency profiles. They are organized by state and city and include the agency name, address, crisis and information telephone numbers, contact names, types of clients and services, service area, years in operation, and accessibility for handicapped individuals. Each agency provided the information about its services. Two appended sections list State coalitions and agencies; national associations, clearinghouses, and research centers. Alphabetical and service indexes, overview of the problem, and suggestions for locating additional services are included.
