This report, covering sexual assaults in Wisconsin during 1989, is divided into two sections which discuss rape assaults and non-rape assaults respectively. The report focuses on the characteristics of assaults and presents the number of reported sexual assaults by municipality and county.
Abstract
The findings focus on the characteristics of rape victims and offenders; characteristics of single-offender and multi-offender rapes including location, time, use of weapons, injury to victims, and relationship between offender and victim; and arrests of offenders and case dispositions. The same variables were studied in sexual assaults that did not meet the report's definition of rape. The data were collected from the Wisconsin Sexual Assault Form which was submitted as part of the Uniform Crime Reporting program. 38 tables, 26 graphs, and 2 appendixes
