This report provides information on the activities of Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grantees for the period January to June 2013.
Abstract
This report was compiled by CSR, Incorporated to provide information on the activities of BJA grantees for the period January to June 2013. Highlights from the report include the following: 83 percent of grantees consistently used data analysis to inform decisionmaking, with 91 percent using official police reports, 84 percent using arrest reports, and 72 percent using calls for service; between January and March 2013, 22 percent of grantees revised a strategic plan and 33 percent implemented a new or revised tactical plan; between January and June 2013, nine policies were created and five were updated, nine SOPs (standard operating procedures) were developed and seven were updated, and seven grantees updated or created policies or SOPs; and between January and March 2013, seven grantees developed, revised, or reprioritized their SPI (smart policing initiatives) objectives, while three grantees did so during the April to June 2013 reporting period.
