Abstract
THE RAPID CHANGE IN VALUES AND PERSPECTIVES ARE NOTED. RACIAL CONFLICTS, FAMILY INSTABILITY, POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT, WHITE COLLAR CRIME AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES ARE EXAMINED. IT TREATS JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, MENTAL ILLNESS AND SUICIDE, VIOLENCE, AND OVERCRIMINALIZATION. THESE ISSUES ARE RELATED TO THE PROBLEMS OF SOCIAL CONTROL AND REFORM WITHIN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
