PRESENTS A VARIETY OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION PROGRAMS FUNDED BY THE FORD FOUNDATION.
Abstract
THE BROAD PROGRAM AREAS THAT HAVE RECEIVED FUNDING ARE PILOT AND ACTION PROGRAMS, RESEARCH, AND THE GREAT CITIES PROGRAM, WHICH INVOLVES PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION OF UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN LARGE CITIES. SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND THE NEEDS MET BY THEM ARE DESCRIBED. IT IS THE POLICY OF THE FORD FOUNDATION TO UNDERMINE DELINQUENCY THROUGH COORDINATED, COMMUNITY-WIDE ATTACKS ON ALL THE HUMAN PROBLEMS OF URBAN AREAS. BETTER EDUCATION, JOB OPPORTUNITIES, WORK PROJECTS, AND PROGRAMS TO INCREASE FAMILY, SCHOOL, AND COMMUNITY INTEREST ARE SOME OF THE GOALS OF THE FOUNDATION PROGRAMS DESCRIBED IN THIS PAMPHLET.
