Abstract
MANY PEOPLE FEEL THAT THEY ARE EXPERTS ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF SOCIAL ACTION BECAUSE EVERYONE IS A MEMBER OF SOCIETY. THE SUBJECT IS, HOWEVER, TOO COMPLICATED TO BE COMPREHENDED SOLELY ON AN INTUITIVE BASIS, STATES THE AUTHOR, AS HE CALLS FOR MORE SOCIOLOGICAL STUDIES ON THE NATURE OF POLICEWORK.
