Abstract
Individual chapters focus on crises at work, including being fired, being laid off, or experiencing discrimination and coping with children in crisis, including child abuse and neglect, a runaway child, a child who is arrested, a child who is homosexual, and a pregnant adolescent. Additional chapters focus on property, custody, and other issues related to divorce; violence against women through rape, domestic violence, or stalking; crises in conception and sexuality; and resources for adults and children with disabilities. Further chapters focuses on mental health crises, life-threatening illness, crises in aging, and death and dying. A resource section contains corresponding chapters that list national organizations that provide information, publications, support, and other types of assistance relevant to the topics discussed in the earlier chapters.
