BRIEF DISCUSSION OF THE MODERN HISTORY OF TERRORISM, BEGINNING WITH THE FRENCH REVOLUTION AND GOING ON TO THE ANARCHIST TERRORISM IN FRANCE IN THE 1890S, THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, ETC.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT A MINORITY, ACTING ALONE CANNOT BRING ABOUT A REVOLUTION. IT CAN ONLY DO SO IF IT EXPRESSES THE WISHES OF THE MASSES AND IS RECOGNIZED BY THEM. TERRORISTS WITHOUT POPULAR SUPPORT, ACTING AS A SMALL MINORITY, HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER IN THE WAY OF PLANS OR AN ORGANIZATION TO TAKE THE PLACE OF THE GOVERNMENT THEY ARE ATTACKING. THEREFORE THEY MUST FAIL, AS IS THE CASE WITH THE PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS. --IN FRENCH
