Significant events and data for the year ended June 30, 1980, are presented regarding the South African Police.
Abstract
The report includes information about terrorist attacks, school boycotts, police deaths, and recruitment. Training data, crime statistics, an inventory of equipment, and spiritual care of police force members are noted. There were 3,967 active members of the police at the end of June. The police had a less successful recruitment year than hoped for. The number of offenses reported increased and fewer were solved in 1980. Photographs and tables are included.
