FINAL REPORT OF A PROJECT TO IMPROVE EXISTING VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES FOR YOUTHS BROUGHT BEFORE FAMILY COURTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
Abstract
THIS PROJECT CENTERED ON THE RICHLAND COUNTY FAMILY COURT SYSTEM BECAUSE OF A DEMONSTRATED NEED FOR IMPROVED REFERRAL TECHNIQUES IN THAT COUNTY'S VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM. A REVISED INTAKE PROCEDURE WAS ESTABLISHED. TESTING PROCEDURES TO CONSTRUCT SOCIAL HISTORIES, EVALUATE MENTAL HEALTH AND ACHIEVEMENT, ASSESS PHYSICAL ACHIEVEMENT, AND DETERMINE COMMUNITY TREATMENT NEEDS FOR CLIENTS WERE DEVISED. ALL JURISDICTIONS REPORTING WERE ABLE TO EXPAND THEIR REFERRAL CAPACITIES.
