This report summarizes the 1980 activities of the South Dakota commission responsible for the coordination and administration of the State's law enforcement training program and officers' standards.
Abstract
Information is given on the membership and staff of the commission and on the extent of compliance with the standards it imposes. Training programs and attendance are reported for the Rol Keback Criminal Justice Center and for training programs conducted in the field. Additional topics include curriculum development, advanced certification, and training center activities. Expenditures and financing reports precede future projections. During 1980, 118 officers enrolled in the General Law Enforcement Training Session applying for certification; 5 of these were not certified. Tabular data are provided. Appendixes contain officers' standards, the training curriculum, and rules of certification for active and reserve law enforcement officers.
