EVALUATION OF AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAM IN THE SOUTHWEST VALLEY SECTION OF METROPOLITAN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO.
Abstract
THE GOAL OF DELINQUENCY PREVENTION WAS TO BE ACHIEVED BY THE PROJECT BECOMING A YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU (MAKING REFERRALS TO OTHER, ALREADY EXISTING AGENCIES) AND BY PROVIDING SERVICES THAT WERE NOT BEING PROVIDED, SUCH AS JOB PLACEMENT, DRUG COUNSELING, AND RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS. THE PROJECT WAS A SUCCESS IF MEASURED BY AGENCY, COMMUNITY, AND CLIENT ACCEPTANCE. IT CANNOT BE SAID HOW SUCCESSFUL THE PROJECT WAS WITH INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS. THE EVALUATORS RECOMMEND CONTINUED GOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT OF THE PROJECT. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
