THIS PAPER SHOWS HOW A STUDY COULD BE CONDUCTED TO TEST WHETHER DELINQUENTS PREFER CONVENTIONAL SPORTS OR AGENT-DIRECTED SPORTS.
Abstract
THE STUDY WOULD INVOLVE A SEMANTIC DIFFERENTIAL AND A SPORTS PREFERENCE INVENTORY QUESTIONNAIRE. CONVENTIONAL SPORTS INCLUDE THOSE SUCH AS FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, AND BASEBALL. AGENT-DIRECTED SPORTS INCLUDE HORSEBACK RIDING, CAMPING, AND CANOEING. THE STUDY, IT WAS BELIEVED, WOULD ILLUSTRATE THAT DELINQUENTS AND PREDELINQUENTS PREFER AGENT-DIRECTED SPORTS. IF THIS WERE FOUND TO BE THE CASE, IT WOULD HAVE PROFOUND IMPLICATION FOR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY SPORTS AND RECREATION PROGRAMS....BDS
