THE 1979 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA POLICE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS AND STATISTICAL DATA ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACTIVITIES OF THE MAJOR POLICE DIVISIONS.
Abstract
STATISTICAL INDICATORS ON POLICE INVESTIGATIONS ARE PROVIDED IN THE SECTION DESCRIBING THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF, COMPOSED OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE, THE WATCH COMMANDERS, INTERNAL AFFAIRS, AND THE VICE AND INSPECTION UNITS. CRIMINAL OFFENSES COMMITTED IN PATROL DIVISION AREAS ARE GRAPHICALLY DISPLAYED. A DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES BY THE INVESTIGATIVE DIVISION DURING 1979 PROVIDES DATA ON PART I OFFENSES, CLEARANCE RATES, ARRESTS FOR OTHER OFFENSES, TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS AND PROPERTY, JUVENILE INCIDENTS, AND MISSING PERSONS. THE TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION ACTIVITIES IN 1979, PRESENTED IN TABULAR FORM, INCLUDE DATA ON TRAINING, CALLS HANDLED, CHEMICAL ANALYSES, FINGERPRINTS, AND POLYGRAPH TESTS. ROUNDING OUT THE REPORT ARE DATA ON THE NUMBER OF SWORN PERSONNEL, RECORDS AND IDENTIFICATION STATISTICS, AND DISTRIBUTION OF BUDGETARY OUTLAYS. GRAPHS, TABLES, AND CHARTS ARE PROVIDED.
