Abstract
DESCRIBED ARE A RATIONALE FOR EVALUATING CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROJECTS AND DISCUSSES THE DIFFERENT USES OF THE EVALUATION RESULTS. ALSO DESCRIBED ARE ALTERNATIVE CONCEPTS OF EVALUATION, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PLANNING A PROJECT AND EVALUATING IT, AND A SCHEMA FOR EVALUATING PROJECTS. THE STANDARDIZED PLANNING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT (SPEC) SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED. THE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS AND THE REPORTING PROCEDURE ARE DISCUSSED IN DETAIL. INCLUDED ARE THE PROGRAM EVALUATION DATA REQUIREMENTS FOR 1973 INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCY ACTION PROGRAMS.
