This manual provides States with guidance on the development of Statewide drug strategies, preparation of applications for Federal funds, and administration of drug law enforcement programs and other programs established under the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986.
Abstract
The law authorizes the Bureau of Justice Assistance to make grants to States for use by State and local governments to enforce State and local laws establishing offenses similar to those in the Controlled Substances Act. These funds may be used for apprehension, prosecution, adjudication, detention, and rehabilitation of drug offenders; for drug eradication; for treatment programs; and for programs targeting major drug offenders. Individual sections of the manual discuss the funding allocation, application and eligibility requirements, allowable expenses, and administrative issue. Appended additional guidelines.
