Annotation
This document lists and annotates State criminal legislation, current through July 31, 1992, regarding parental abduction.
Abstract
Although traditional kidnapping statutes may also apply in cases of parental abduction, this compilation contains only custodial interference statutes unless otherwise specified. The annotations describe the specific circumstances under which parental abduction or other crimes, including interference with custody, failure to permit visitation with a minor, unlawful detention, removal of minors from State, or concealment occur. Some of the possible penalties for such crimes are also described.
