The 1995 annual report of Georgia's Board of Pardons and Paroles reviews major activities and accomplishments during the year and presents statistical data on inmates, parolees, and probationers.
Abstract
Goals of the board are to protect the public, respond to the needs and concerns of crime victims and their families, use agency and community resources as a bridge to help parolees reach self-sufficiency and stable citizenship, supervise parolees, and return parolees to prison when they cannot comply with their release conditions. During 1995, the board focused on victims, violent and repeat criminals, electronic monitoring, reducing the heavy workload of parole officers, and strategic planning. Data are provided on inmates, parolees, and probationers at the end of fiscal year 1995. Biographic sketches of board members are included, commonly asked questions about parole are answered, and information on parole decision guidelines is provided. In addition, the annual report describes victim and program services. Tables and figures
