RESULTS OF A SURVEY DISTRIBUTED TO NUMEROUS ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED IN JUDICIAL EDUCATION IN THE VARIOUS STATES AND IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, DEALING WITH ADMINISTRATIVE, PROGRAMMATIC, AND BUDGETARY CONSIDERATIONS.
Abstract
THE INFORMATION GATHERED BY THIS QUESTIONNAIRE INCLUDE: WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR JUDICIAL EDUCATION; THE PROGRAMS OFFERED; THE TYPE OF ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURES USED; THE TRAINING OFFICE BUDGET; HOW THE BUDGET AND PROGRAMS ARE FUNDED; THE AVAILABLE EDUCATIONAL PUBLICATIONS; AND THE TYPE OF EVALUATIVE PROCEDURES USED. PERTINENT SECTIONS OF THE SURVEY RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN CHART FORM. AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SECTION IS A BRIEF DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT TO AID THE INTERPRETATION AND UNDERSTANDING OF EACH SECTION. THE APPENDIXES INCLUDE A SAMPLE RESEARCH QUESTIONNAIRE, STATE STATUTORY JUDICIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS, A DESCRIPTION OF SIX MAJOR NATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED IN JUDICIAL EDUCATION, AND STANDARDS OF JUDICIAL EDUCATION AS SUGGESTED BY THE AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION AND THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMISSION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS.
