This report presents statistical data about Missouri's juvenile justice system and juvenile offenders during 1986-90 and describes the system's issues, priorities, and plans for the next 3 years.
Abstract
Priority issues include the overrepresentation of minority youth in the juvenile justice system, the inadequate response to the needs of juvenile status offenders, insufficient prevention programs and community-based services, and the lack of court disposition services. Other needs include training and technical assistance, treatment for adolescent sex offenders, and research and development on several topics. Figures, tables, description of the State's juvenile justice system, and appended tables
