The 1994 annual report of the Maryland State Police summarizes accomplishments and activities by police barrack, division, and bureau.
Abstract
In 1994, the Maryland State Police established Operation People as a separate unit within the Field Operations Bureau to combine aggressive law enforcement with interactive community policing techniques. A community policing program was initiated in Frederick County, and cooperative efforts were undertaken with several county police jurisdictions to prevent crime. Other activities focused on drug law enforcement, insurance fraud, auto theft, treaffic violations, emergency services, alcohol breath testing, and police training. Maryland State Police expenditures and personnel strengths for fiscal year 1994 are listed, and data on calls for police services are tabulated. An organizational chart of the Maryland State Police is included.
