This manual presents standardized wording for use by New Jersey communities in preparing declarations, procedural guidelines, plans, and related documents that together make up the community's plan for handling an emergency.
Abstract
The text can be used as written or modified to meet local needs. The plan should include an introduction and sections covering authority and references, purpose, situations, operations and control, responsibilities, the continuity of government, administration and logistics, and definitions. Attachments should cover alerts, warnings, communications, damage assessment, emergency medical services, the emergency operations center, public information, evacuation, fire and rescue, hazardous materials, law enforcement, public health, public works, radiological protection, resource management, and social services.
