Abstract
Court structure and statistics are presented for appellate courts, Court of Claims, trial courts, courts of superior jurisdiction, trial courts of limited jurisdiction, family court, and surrogate's court. Structure and statistics are also provided for arbitration and the Community Dispute Resolution Centers Program. Court statistics cover case filings, caseload activity, and dispositions. A chapter on the administration of the courts addresses the court system's budget, information management in the trial courts, the court facilities program, education and training program, the work of the Office of Reference Services, the work of the Ethics Commission, and attorney registration and statement filings. A chapter on program highlights notes that major steps were taken to better serve the public, including the establishment of a website and consolidation of the Office of Court Administration operations in New York City at one location.
