This report provides 1998 data and information on the activities of Rhode Island courts and court-related boards and panels.
Abstract
Following a chart of Rhode Island's court structure, the 1998 report on the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Program is provided, along with a report on the Victim Services Unit. The budget report for the Rhode Island courts contains a 5-year comparison. Caseflow data and information are then provided for the State Supreme Court, superior court, family court, district court, the Workers' Compensation Court, and the Administrative Adjudication Court. Reports are also presented for the following boards and panels: Board of Bar Examiners, Committee on Character and Fitness, Disciplinary Board, Ethics Advisory Panel, the Advisory Committee on the Code of Judicial Conduct, the Commission on Judicial Tenure and Discipline, the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission, the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, the User-Friendly Courts Committee, the Permanent Advisory Committee on Women in the Courts, and the Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee. Appendixes contain supplementary data and information on court caseflows and dispositions, as well as a 1999 Court Directory and a 1999 Judicial Roster.
