This annual report for the State Washington Department of Corrections provides data on inmate characteristics under the Department’s Community Corrections Division.
Abstract
The report offers statistical data on the State of Washington Department of Corrections Community Corrections Division’s active field supervision cases which include offenders on active supervision status, as well as those detained in jail or being supervised in another State. The total number of offenders for whom the Division of Community Corrections was responsible for in 2000 was 90,333. The report is broken down into seven tables: (1) supervision authority; (2) resident inmates within institutions, pre-release, and work release with location by race and Hispanic origin; (3) field supervision by classification categories and regions; (4) type of contact (phone-in, limited, and inactive) by county of supervision; (5) location by work release offender type (inmate, parolee, partial confinement, and community custody inmate) and sex; (6) violation reports by month, rate per 1000 offenders by county supervision; (7a) offenders with contact requirements by region and risk level (low, low moderate, moderate, medium, and high); (7b)offenders with contact requirements by risk levels, race, and sex; and (7c) offenders with contact requirements who are involved in offender change groups (anger management, moral reconation therapy, relapse education program, sex offender treatment programs, and victim awareness education programs).
