This annual report presents statistical data pertaining to the calendar year 2004 activities of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Abstract
Nine main sections comprise this statistical report; in the first section general comparisons are offered of the population, size, and police cost within each community police station area, and information is presented about the crime, arrest, and traffic rates for Los Angeles. The second section details Part I and Part II offenses and attempted offenses, while the third section offers statistical data on adult arrests by location and type of offense, by month and type of offense, and by age and sex and type of offense. The fourth section offers similar data on juvenile arrests and the fifth section provides information on traffic accidents and enforcement. Telephone calls received and units dispatched during 2004 are the subjects of section 6 while section 7 presents information pertaining to police personnel and equipment, including data on personnel leave, work, overtime, and compensation. The eighth section offers a series of graphs detailing monthly comparisons of selected crimes while the final section presents crime and arrest data from the California Bureau of Criminal Statistics.
