Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) and cyclic INAA (CINAA) were used to study the discrimination of flat glass fragments. The experiments described in this article also considered short irradiation, delay, and count times with regard to small sample test portions.
Abstract
A statistical model assigned the elemental variation among glasses to different experimental factors. The elemental differences between specific glasses were identified by advanced statistical methods. Float glass panes produced by two major Canadian manufacturers were readily differentiated based on their aluminum levels. 7 tables and 33 references (Author abstract modified)
