THE CENTRAL BUREAU FOR VITAL STATISTICS PROVIDES STATISTICAL DATA ON JUDICIAL CHILD PROTECTION IN THE NETHERLANDS.
Abstract
KEY FIGURES ON CHILD PROTECTION CASES ARE PROVIDED FOR THE YEARS 1965-1977, AS WELL AS FIGURES ON THE CHILD POPULATION IN GENERAL (I.E., SEX, AGE, AND DISTRICT). CASES ARE CLASSIFIED ACCORDING TO (1) CHILDREN PLACED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE STATE, (2) CHILDREN PLACED IN THE CARE OF THE CHILD WELFARE OFFICE, (3) CHILDREN REMOVED FROM THE HOME, (4) CHILDREN REINSTATED INTO THE CUSTODY OF THEIR PARENTS, (5) CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS ARE DEPRIVED OF CUSTODY BUT CONTRIBUTE TO THE COST OF THE CHILD'S CARE, AND (6) ADOPTION CASES. DATA IDENTIFY SEX, AGE, RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION, GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF THE CHILD WELFARE OFFICE, THE COURT HANDLING THE CASE AND THE CHILD PROTECTION AGENCY INVOLVED, AND DURATION OF REMOVAL FROM THE HOME. GRAPHS CHART THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN PLACED UNDER SUPERVISION AND CHILDREN PLACED TEMPORARILY INTO THE CARE OF THE CHILD WELFARE OFFICE, AS WELL AS ADOPTION CASES FOR THE YEARS 1960-1977. OTHER STATISTICS DEAL WITH STATE AND PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS FOR CHILDREN UNDER JUDICIAL CHILD PROTECTION. --IN DUTCH (WVK)
