COMPREHENSIVE DATA SYSTEMS (CDS) IS A LEAA FUNDED PROGRAM THAT ASSISTS THE STATES IN DEVELOPING A COMPREHENSIVE, INTEGRATED CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SERVICE.
Abstract
THE REQUIREMENTS FOR STATE PARTICIPATION ARE REVIEWED AND THE COMPONENTS OF CDS ARE EXPLAINED. THESE COMPONENTS INCLUDE STATE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS CENTERS, UNIFORM CRIME REPORTING BY THE STATES, MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE STATISTICS, OFFENDER-BASED TRANSACTION STATISTICS COMPUTERIZED CRIMINAL HISTORY MODULE, AND THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE MODULE. THE STATE OF DEVELOPMENT OF THESE SYSTEMS IS DISCUSSED.
