Abstract
Child victims are the intended audience for the book, which takes them step by step through the procedures they will encounter when they go to court. The children are introduced to court personnel, and such terms as defense attorney, prosecutor, defendant, judge, spectators, bailiff, jury, and witness are defined. The children are told what to expect when they enter the courtroom and who will be there. They are told who will question them and why. The tone of the book is straightforward and supportive. Pictures of a court and children in the courtroom are intended to help children feel comfortable in the adult environment of a court.
