LONGITUDINAL STUDY OF THE FAMILY, SOCIAL, AND TREATMENT RECORDS OF 48 FRENCH DELINQUENT ADOLESCENT GIRLS WHO APPEARED BEFORE THE JUDGE FOR JUVENILES OR THE COURT FOR JUVENILES DURING 1969 AND 1970.
Abstract
CHARACTERISTIC FAMILY BACKGROUNDS INVOLVED LOW SOCIO-ECONOMIC LEVEL, ALCOHOLISM OF THE PARENTS, BACKWARDNESS IN SCHOOL, LACK OF JOB TRAINING, AND A PROBLEMATICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER AND DAUGHTER. THE OFFENSE MOST COMMONLY HELD AGAINST THE SUBJECTS WAS THEFT. THE STUDY ALSO CONCLUDED THAT TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION FOR THE GIRLS HAD FOCUSED EXCESSIVELY ON THE SEXUAL PROBLEMS OF ADOLESCENTS. --IN FRENCH, SUMMARY IN ENGLISH
