OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS AND OPERATING COSTS, FOCUSING ON CRISWELL HOUSE, FLORIDA'S FIRST HALFWAY HOUSE.
Abstract
THIS BOOKLET EXAMINES THE SUCCESS RATE FOR THOSE AT CRISWELL HOUSE WHO COMPLETED THE PROGRAM. ALSO PRESENTED IS A COMPARATIVE COST ANALYSIS OF HALFWAY HOUSES AND TRAINING SCHOOLS. THE PAMPHLET NOTES THAT CHILDREN COMMITTED TO THE DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES SPEND LESS TIME IN HALFWAY HOUSES THAN THEY DO IN TRAINING SCHOOLS. THE COST OF CARING FOR CHILDREN IN HALFWAY HOUSES APPEARS TO BE CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN THAT OF TRAINING SCHOOLS.
