STUDY DEMONSTRATING THE VALUE AND FEASIBILITY OF UTILISING MEASURES OF INTERPERSONAL PERCEPTIONS IN DESCRIBING AND ANALYSING POLICE POPULATIONS.
Abstract
THE RESEARCH INSTRUMENT USED IN THIS STUDY WAS THE LEARY INTERPERSONAL ADJECTIVE CHECKLIST. THE STUDY SHOWS THAT THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLICE IN THE SAMPLE SEE NEITHER THEMSELVES, NOR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS SELECTED FOR THIS RESEARCH, IN PATHOLOGICAL TERMS. THIS FACT MAY EXPLAIN THE SINGULAR LACK OF VIOLENCE BETWEEN OFFICERS AND CITIZENS/CRIMINALS WHICH HAS BEEN OBSERVED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
