Abstract
The text provides guidelines for use by attorneys in relation to arrest, confinement, and preliminary hearing; arraignment and pleas; the suppression of evidence; jury selection; the handling of each phase of the trial; sentencing; judicial misconduct; jury misconduct; and military law and justice. Emphasis is placed on client and witness preparation, including the use of hypnosis, counseling the client at lineups, and plea bargaining. New materials focus on assessing and attacking the credibility of witnesses, psychological influences on eyewitness identification, the defendant as witness, jury misconduct, severance of defendants, and courtroom appearance for both attorney and client.
