EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAM IN SUFFOLK, VA., IN REACHING ITS GOAL.
Abstract
THE EVALUATION WAS UNDERTAKEN IN FEB. 1977, FOR A GRANT COSTING $22,800 THAT AIMED AT ESTABLISHING A YOUTH SERVICES BUREAU SPECIALIZING IN JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION. THE PROJECT ALSO SOUGHT TO DIVERT YOUTH FROM THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND INVESTIGATE INCIDENTS INVOLVING JUVENILES. EVALUATORS RATED THE ACHIEVEMENT OF MOST GOALS OF THE PROGRAM ABOUT AVERAGE. THE PROGRAM WAS JUDGED ABOVE AVERAGE IN ONE GOAL AND VERY GOOD ON ANOTHER....BDS
