THE GENERAL PROPOSALS WHICH ARE SET FORTH INCLUDE THE PROVISION OF LEGAL AID IN CERTAIN CIVIL CASES IF A SCREENING COMMITTEE BELIEVES THAT THE REMEDY WOULD BE SOUGHT IF THE APPLICANT COULD PAY FOR LEGAL SERVICES.
Abstract
GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF A LEGAL AID PLAN, ITS ADMINISTRATION, ELIGIBILITY FOR LEGAL AID, AND ITS COSTS ARE DISCUSSED. THE PROPOSAL ALLOWS FOR THE CLIENT'S SELECTION OF COUNSEL (WHERE PRACTICABLE) IN BOTH CIVIL AND CRIMINAL CASES.
