This report presents an overview of California's laws relating to alcohol and drug abuse, using nontechnical language to provide brief summaries of the applicable statutes.
Abstract
The list was obtained from the LEXIS information retrieval system. The summarized statutes are divided into the following 10 major categories: (1) statutory authority for the regulation of alcohol and drugs; (2) use, possession, and soliciting; (3) sale, dispensing, and administering; (4) adulterating or poisoning of food, drink, or water; (5) labeling and advertising; (6) professions and employment; (7) staff, students, and training in educational institutions; (8) the administration of justice; (9) treatment and prevention; and (10) alcoholic beverage licensing and taxation.
