Abstract
AFTER REVIEWING THE PRESENT SYSTEM OF OPERATIONS AND RECORDS-KEEPING, IT IS GENERALLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE SUNNYSIDE POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE CENTRAL INDEX RECORDS SYSTEM, SINGLE LINE UPDATE, INCLUDING NECESSARY HARDWARE, PROCEDURES, AND POLICY. IN THE AREA OF REPORT REVIEW PROCESS IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL REPORTS BE REVIEWED BY THE IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR PRIOR TO FORWARDING TO CENTRAL RECORDS, FOR ADHERENCE TO ESTABLISHED DATA SEQUENCE, ACCURACY, AND COMPLETENESS. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE ALSO OFFERRED IN THE AREAS OF MASTER INDEX UPDATE/RETRIEVAL, DATA-COLLECTION DOCUMENTS, USABLE DATA, NUMERIC PAPER FILE, MICROFILM CAPABILITY, STAFFING OF THE CENTRAL RECORDS SECTION, AND INTERIM DEVELOPMENT TOWARD A COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM INCLUDING CONVERSION. APPENDICES INCLUDE REPORT FORM SAMPLES, SAMPLE PROCEDURE MANUAL, AND REQUIREMENTS FOR USABLE DATA....RCB
