This second volume of a 2-volume study of State-level criminal justice information systems in all 50 States and the District of Columbia presents a State-by-State summary of the data collected from a survey of more than 300 agencies.
Abstract
The State profiles have six sections, a series of tables, and two figures. Each profile describes the criminal justice data used by the responding agency and any outstanding characteristics of the information systems; reports the accessibility of the data to other local, State, and Federal agencies; and gives information on all operational and planned information systems. In addition, the role of the Statistical Analysis Center in disseminating and analyzing the data is examined, and the formal authority for reporting is stated. Finally, each agency's ability to process and analyze data is noted. Tables show the availability and original source on specific types of data, and figures indicate data and service transfers among agencies. For volume one of the report, see NCJ 79742.
