SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) Teams have changed in their mission and approaches over the last two decades and are now involved in a broader scope of operations including high-risk warrant service and covert audio and visual surveillance.
Abstract
In addition, these emergency response teams use a much broader array of advanced equipment than they did in the past. On such item is a miniature video camera which is attached to the hat or chest and can record any individual officer's action. Audio surveillance devices are also becoming more powerful and smaller. Other devices include a vehicle tracking system, a rifle sight that can be used both day and night, radio headsets that will function even amid sudden movements, and many kinds of firearms.
