OUTLINE OF THE ORGANIZATION OF THE SWEDISH NATIONAL POLICE SYSTEM WITH BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS OF THE DUTIES OF THE VARIOUS UNITS.
Abstract
IN 1965 THE FORMER MUNICIPAL POLICE SYSTEM IN SWEDEN WAS RATIONALIZED FOR PURPOSES OF EFFICIENCY AND TO COPE WITH THE GROWING PROBLEMS OF CRIME AND TRAFFIC. THE DIVISIONS OF THE SYSTEM DESCRIBED INCLUDE TECHNICAL AFFAIRS, TRAINING, ADMINISTRATION, COMPUTER, RECORDS, AND NATIONAL SECURITY, AS WELL AS PREVENTIVE AND INVESTIGATIVE OPERATIONS. ALSO DESCRIBED ARE THE OPERATIONS OF THE SYSTEM AT THE REGIONAL AND LOCAL LEVELS. INCLUDED ARE ORGANIZATIONAL CHARTS OF THE NATIONAL POLICE BOARD, THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, AND THE NORMAL ORGANIZATION OF A POLICE DISTRICT.
