A veteran SWAT rifle, a high-tech SWAT truck, some ammunition for snipers, and other gear for emergency response and tactical officers is reviewed.
Abstract
Resolving the problem of fluid intake for SWAT members is usually handled by the attachment of a canteen or water bottle to one's gear. FastTrack Systems, Inc.'s Camelback Hydration Systems provide hands-free water reservoirs that collapse as fluid is expended, are insulated for handling hot beverages, and can be attached to SWAT equipment vests. The AUG (Army Universal Gun) can be reconfigured from an entry gun to a light sniper rifle in less than a minute. The Sierra 168 Grain Boat Trail Hollow Point match bullet, and products from Black Hills Ammunition, are favorably reviewed, as are several makes and models of sniper rifles. Lasers as weapons sights and range finders; red dot aiming devices; a security holster with a thigh-carry; active listening and hearing protection devices; special operations vehicles; and forcible entry tools are also reviewed and evaluated. Addresses are provided for sources of additional information on some products.
