Abstract
Materials in the section on "Communities Working Together" include brochures, program papers, and articles. The brochures pertain to domestic violence, the use of the law in crime prevention, and victim services. Seven papers discuss the development of a crime-prevention strategy, keys to program evaluation, and ways to help communities take action against crime and drugs. Two articles examine drug- free school zones and how to take back your neighborhood. The section with materials on "Caring for Where We Live and Work" contains brochures, articles, program papers, and a mini-poster on such topics as the prevention of auto theft, the safety of children at home alone, crime prevention in rural areas, home security while on vacation, and crime prevention in the workplace. Brochures, articles, papers, a mini-poster, and drug-free activity sheets for kids are provided in the section on "Taking a Stand Against Drugs." They include guidance for parents in talking with their children about drugs, the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse on the job, and how to engage youth in solving community problems. Two other sections of the kit contain materials on protection against and the prevention of violence and the operation of Neighborhood Watch.
