Abstract
In 2007, two international symposiums of great significance to the United Nations European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control (HEUNI) took place: (1) HEUNI 25, the anniversary of the establishment of the Institute in December 1981 and (2) the Stockholm Criminology Symposium in celebration of its 25th anniversary. This HEUNI report contains 15 contributions from these events, most of them deriving from the Helsinki Symposium. The papers from both events deal with issues that are close to HEUNI’s current working profile and to the United Nations (U.N.) priorities, such as organized crime, prisons in Eastern Europe, technical assistance, crime prevention, and U.N. Standards and Norms related to crime and criminal justice. References
