THESE TERMS WERE SELECTED FROM 24 OF THE MOST APPLICABLE STANDARDS PUBLISHED BY ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS, THE AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE, THE ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION, THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, THE ASSOCIATED PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERS, INC, AND THE CANADIAN DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS. THE TERMS SELECTED ARE ARRANGED ALPHABETICALLY UNDER 69 GENERAL CATEGORIES OR KEYWORDS. THIS GLOSSARY WAS COMPILED BY THE LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS LABORATORY (LESL) WHICH HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED BY THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS FOR THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE.
