Abstract
The essays argue opposing opinions regarding whether teen violence is a serious problem, whether the breakdown of the family causes teen violence, and whether media violence causes teen violence. Additional essays focus on whether punishment or prevention is the solution to teen violence, whether violent adolescents should be tried and sentenced as adults, and whether curfews and anti-loitering laws are constitutional and effective. Photographs, illustrations, appended articles from other sources, a section presenting facts and statistics about juvenile violence, index, chapter study questions, annotated list of organizations to contact, 6 suggested further readings, and 127 references
