After providing a basic background in video technology, this book discusses the application of video technology to routine and essential law enforcement activities.
Abstract
Following an overview of the past, present, and future of television, the discussion turns to video recorders, cameras, videotapes, audio equipment, and accessories. Also considered are lighting, scripting, titling, editing, and program formats. Subsequent chapters suggest ways of applying television to various law enforcement activities, including training operators, taping drunk drivers, surveillance operations, taping confessions and crime scenes, traffic studies, general departmental training and instruction, and public relations. Appendixes provide lists of major video manufacturers and sample forms for scripts, releases, waivers, and statements. A glossary of video terminology is included, and numerous illustrations and photographs supplement the text. Ten bibliographic listings and a subject index are provided as well.
