This report from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation presents crime trend information for the State for the period 2001 through 2010.
Abstract
Highlights from this report include: for the period 2001 through 2010, Group A offenses decreased 0.3 percent and Group B offenses increased 49.7 percent; crimes against persons and crimes against society increased by 7.5 percent and 45.4 percent, respectively, while crimes against property decreased by 9.4 percent; drug narcotic violations increased 44.9 percent while driving under the influence (DUI) offenses decreased by 13.3 percent; credit card fraud and impersonation increased by 135.1 percent and 45 percent, respectively; and both hate crimes and crimes against law enforcement officials declined during this period, 49.5 percent and 22.3 percent, respectively. This report from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation presents crime trend information for the State for the period 2001 through 2010. Data for the report were obtained from law enforcement information submitted to the Tennessee Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS) from 2001 through the end of 2010. Trend data are included for Group A offenses, Group B offenses, crimes against persons, crimes against property, crimes against society, violent crimes, credit card fraud, impersonation, drug/narcotic violations, DUIs, domestic violence, hate crimes, and offenses committed against law enforcement officials.
