This article discusses a specific aspect of the nature of violence in the media, that is, the policy of the government of Great Britain toward the portrayal of terrorists by the media.

Journalists are confronted with the dilemma of fulfilling their role as the providers of information and news without simultaneously excusing or justifying the use of violence by terrorist groups.
